California, Here We Come!

For our vacation, we went to San Aliejo, California. We went going camping there, in a camping trailer for 5 days. We are getting the same spots that we did last year. My family and I are meeting 5 other families that are parents' friends.

San Aliejo is a few steps from the ocean. All we have to do is walk out of the camper, down a small staircase and we are on the beach. The beach is very long, more long than wide. We can even hear the ocean at night.

Our camper is really close to the other campers. So, my family can visit with the other families all the time. We like to play games, share meals, and hang out in each others campers. One camper is especially close to the beach. So we just walk down to that camper, across the not busy street, and we are at the stairs to the beach.

While I am there, my friends and I rebuild "The Capitol," which is a big mound of sand. What we do, is we take a lot of sand and a lot of water and make a big mound. When the tide comes in, we jump on top of "The Capitol" and pretend that the ocean is a big lake that is over flowing. Then, if the ocean takes any part of it away, we start building it up again. It is really fun at high tide. My mom bought some sand toys, so we are going to put a tower on top of "The Capitol."

When the day ends, we will go back up to our camper and have smores. Most of our food is prepared outside our camper in a little clearing using a barbeque. We eat chicken, corn on the cob, salad, hamburgers and hot dogs. Maybe inside our camper, we have ham sandwiches and pasta. We take sandwiches down to the beach, so we can eat them while we are down there.
