My Special Place

I’m always looking forward to Sundays, not because Sunday school is fun (although it is fun) but because my mom always lets me have at least a half an hour after church to play. During Sunday school I am always looking out the window waiting to go out and play.

The church playground is fairly old and mainly for little kids but my friend and I always play on it. The playground is pretty big, so I can play with just my friend and not be bothered even if there are a lot of other kids playing there too. It’s always open because it’s a church playground and I never have to worry about strangers. I have even made “code” names for some of the things such as “BTW” which is a bar you can swing on. There’s also a toddler playground that has a bridge going across it that I like to heely across and pretend that it’s a skateboard ramp.

There’s the toddler playground that’s has grass and dandelions. There’s the old rusty playground that has wood so old it could fall down at any time; it’s scary but fun. Then there’s the old swing set that’s older than me and looks and feels like it’s going to fall at any minute, but you know it won’t. There’s a more new playground that has three slides that I like to climb.

My favorite part is a tree that’s perfect for climbing. I made little notches so I can climb it easily. I found little pieces of concrete that I use for chipping away bark and branches. I like to climb it and listen to music while I’m in the tree.

The playground is special to me because I have been going to this church all my life and have been playing on the playground ever since I was able to. I also can practice flips and get up my courage to do more flips and things like that. And that’s why I like it.
